Editorial Guidelines: How We Create and Verify Content

Every byline, fact-check stamp and "last updated" date on this site is backed by the rules on this page. They are binding for everyone who writes, edits or fact-checks for EventEdge — and they are public so readers can hold us to them.

ⓘ These guidelines apply to every page on this site, including pages that carry affiliate links. 18+.

Our editorial principles

ILLUSTRATION: checklist and magnifier (key: methodology-checklist)
  • Accuracy before speed. Placeholder: no figure is published before it has been observed or sourced.
  • Honesty about conditions. Placeholder: offers are presented with their restrictive terms next to the headline, always.
  • No urgency by design. Placeholder: informational tone, soft CTAs, no countdowns, no "win now" language.
  • Reader safety first. Placeholder: 18+ markup and responsible-gambling links on every page with an affiliate link.
  • Independence. Placeholder: commercial relationships never shape scores, rankings or wording.

Fact-checking and sourcing standards

Placeholder description of the two-person rule: the writer documents every claim with a source — a test-account observation, an operator's published terms, a register entry or a named publication — and a second person verifies each one before publication.

  1. Primary sources only for facts

Placeholder: fees from the published schedule, licence status from the public register, timings from our own logs.

  2. Verbatim quoting of offer terms

Placeholder: conditions are quoted from the operator's terms with the access date recorded.

  3. Dated verification

Placeholder: every page shows a "last updated" stamp tied to an actual verification pass, not a cosmetic refresh.

Author and reviewer qualifications

Placeholder standard: reviewers must demonstrate relevant background — financial journalism, regulated-products compliance or equivalent — and complete our internal testing-protocol training before their first solo review. Every author has a public profile listing experience and credentials.

Independence from operators and affiliate disclosure

Placeholder policy: scores follow the published methodology in how we rate and are locked before any commercial discussion; operators do not see drafts; reviewers hold no positions with and accept no gifts from listed operators; affiliate relationships are disclosed on every page that contains affiliate links.

The firewall rule

Placeholder clause: the person who negotiates commercial terms is never the person who scores the platform, and neither may overrule the other.

Corrections and updates policy

Placeholder policy: material errors are corrected promptly with a visible note stating what changed and when; routine re-verifications update the "last updated" stamp; offer changes trigger re-verification of the affected pages within a stated window; a corrections log is available on request.

How to report an issue

Placeholder instructions: use the contact page and choose "Report a factual error or outdated offer". Include the page address and what you believe is wrong. Placeholder commitment: correction reports are acknowledged within a stated number of working days and prioritised over all other mail.

Standards exist for readers

If any page on this site falls short of these guidelines — including how it presents risk — we want to hear about it.
